Lacoste celebrates 80th with Shangri-La Mall exhibit

MANILA, Philippines - Classic sportswear brand Lacoste turns 80 years this 2014. In the Philippines, they are celebrating it with a roadshow at the Shangri-La Plaza Mall in Mandaluyong City.

The exhibit first came out last January 10 to 12 at the mall's new East Wing, and will be remounted on January 14 to 16. It will feature moving and still images, and pieces from Lacoste's archives. Some date back to 1933, the year tennis champ Rene Lacoste invented the polo shirt and founded the brand.

The East Wing also has Lacoste's newly-opened store in Manila: the first with the Agora store concept. This means the store is spacious, airy and is polished, with clean lines.

Visit the store and check out the special collections created by British art director Peter Saville. They also feature Lacoste's 80th anniversary logo.
