These movies went home with the most trophies tonight

MANILA, Philippines - The Critics' Choice Awards 2014 took place on January 16 (January 17, Philippine time) at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California. Talk show host-actress Aisha Tyler of "The Talk" hosted the program.

I live blogged the event as it happened. Check out the backstage photos! :)

The event was more relaxed compared to the recent Golden Globe Awards, and took place hours after Oscar nominations were announced. Tom Hanks, star of "Captain Phillips," was not nominated for an Oscar.

This was given a "soft" protest at the Critics' Choice Awards, first by Tyler in her opening spiel ("I would not snub you, baby.") and by "American Hustle" writer and director David O. Russell who dedicated his Best Comedy award to Hanks, mentioning the actor's name 3 times. ("Argo" writer and director Ben Affleck had the same experience in 2013, when he was not nominated for an Oscar Best Director award yet was honored by other award-giving bodies.)
